Eisner Award-winning publisher Archaia Entertainment is preparing a host of exciting revelations surrounding Meteor Entertainment’s upcoming online video game HAWKEN and the prequel graphic novel being created in partnership as part of the property’s growing transmedia evolution. The San Diego Comic-Con panel will be mediated by Joe LeFavi of Quixotic Transmedia, and will be held Friday, July 13 from 4-5 p.m. in Room 23ABC at the San Diego Convention Center.

Archaia will debut the first pages from the graphic novel’s prologue sequence during their “Transmedia in Graphic Novel Publishing” panel on Friday, July 13. The pages, painted by celebrated concept artist Francisco Ruiz Velasco (Hellboy 2, The Hobbit, Pacific Rim), will set the stage for the 136-page hardcover volume that will be released shortly after the game’s 12/12/12 public launch. The complete book will feature chapters by other notable artists, including Bill Sienkiewicz, Christopher Moeller, Greg Tocchini, Nathan Fox, and Michael Gaydos, among others. HAWKEN creator and creative director Khang Le will be seated on the panel to share his experiences seeing the property take form through so many varying perspectives.

HAWKEN fans, you do not want to miss this panel! This is not only the first look at the graphic novel but there will be more surprise announcements. Producer Dan Jevons of DJ2 and Director Scott Waugh of The Bandito Brothers “Act of Valor” fame, will be joining the panel to talk about the world of HAWKEN and its future.

Archaia will also be hosting several signings throughout the weekend, with Khang Le available to autograph a limited-edition lithograph available for free at the Archaia booth (#2635) during scheduled events. In addition, Archaia will encourage fans and artists in attendance to join the DeviantArt Group #PlayHawken for future news, announcements, and upcoming challenges.
