Artist and creator Daniel Cooney of the hit series Valentine is set to debut an all-new story arc titled Valentine: The Killing Moon, starting with issue ten, at Comic-Con International in San Diego July 13 - 17, 2005.

To kick off The Killing Moon story arc, Cooney and Red Eye Press are holding a contest to win the original cover art, signed and framed by the artist. Entry forms can be found at the Red Eye Press booth #2002 and the winner will be drawn at 3pm on Sunday July 17th. During the convention daily drawings will also be held at the Red Eye Press booth for the chance to win signed books, art prints, and men and women's apparel items. "I'm really excited to be finally sharing this six-part story with the readers and in the process, hold a contest during Comic-Con to add to the excitement," Cooney said.

Cooney promises that Valentine's real name and origin will be told, revealing how and why she entered the morally questionably profession of being an assassin, only to become the world’s deadliest female assassin with a killer smile. "The entire theme of Valentine's origin is about the choices we make, whether the intentions are noble or not. I've worked hard on how I'd explain why a woman would become a killer at such an adolescent age. I pull no punches with this story and hope that this rises above something fantastic in a cliche-ridden genre," Cooney states.
