SUPERGIRL #2 SELLS OUT AT DC COMICS

SUPERGIRL #2 (JUL050209), the second issue of the hot new series written by Jeph Loeb with art by Ian Churchill & Norm Rapmund and covers by Churchill and Michael Turner, has sold out at DC Comics.

“This is just like candy on Halloween,” says Loeb. “I’m very happy that folks are giving SUPERGIRL a chance and spreading the word that the Girl of Steel is back. When the second issue goes out as big as the first issue — well, I haven’t had that kind of good luck since a little thing called BATMAN: HUSH. I can only tell you that if you’ve been enjoying the show, it’s about to get a lot wilder. Issue #3 — with spectacular covers by Churchill and Turner — brings Supergirl up against someone we’ve been waiting for — and his initials are L.L. And for those of you who’ve been following INFINITE CRISIS know (yeah, I know it’s only a few of you!) that it is not going to be pretty! Much of the credit goes to the team: Ian Churchill, Michael Turner, Norm Rapmund, The Aspen Color Squad, and of course, my good luck charm, Richard Starkings. But, none of this is possible without the retailers, the fans and the readers and for that, I’m most grateful.”

Other issues of SUPERGIRL are available as follows:

· SUPERGIRL #1 Third Printing (JUL058321) is available for reorder.
· SUPERGIRL #3 (AUG050199) is available for advance reorder and is scheduled to arrive in stores on November 16.
· SUPERGIRL #4 (OCT050235) is solicited in the October Previews (Volume XV #10) and is scheduled to arrive in stores on December 14.
· SUPERGIRL #5 (NOV050248) is solicited in the November Previews (Volume XV #11) and is scheduled to arrive in stores on January 11.

DC Comics does not plan to go back to press on SUPERGIRL #2 at this time. Copies may still be available at retail.
