Tommyrot: (tom•my•rot) –n. “Utter foolishness and nonsense.” There are many words that can be used to describe the art of Ben Templesmith. Haunting yet handsome. Gruesome yet gorgeous. Scary yet stunning. But perhaps no word best describes this collection of Templesmith’s art than Tommyrot. This collection promises to be one of the more beautifully horrific collections of foolishness.

Ben Templesmith’s unique art style has highlighted such titles as 30 Days of Night, Singularity 7, Fell, and the upcoming all-eerie and humorous Wormwood. Tommyrot will feature many of the major images and covers from many of Templesmith’s books as well as never before seen unpublished paintings and personal work, including looks behind the scenes into his distinctive artistic process.

"I feel hugely honored that IDW Publishing would give me an opportunity to collect some of my favorite works, both published and personal into one volume,” comments Ben Templesmith. “I get asked if there's an art book of mine out there all the time, now finally I can say ‘Yes!’ I sure hope people dig it."

Tommyrot: The Art of Ben Templesmith, with 96-pages of gruesomely gorgeous and delightfully demented art presented in a special over-sized 8-12” x 11’ format, premieres in June 2006.
